Thrift vs. Vintage

As thrift and vintage store lovers,
we wanted to make it easier for Atlanta natives and tourists
to understand the difference between consignment, thrift and vintage items
and how to locate some of the hidden second hand stores in the Atlanta area.

Consignment
(examples: Finder's Keepers
and Ragorama)

These items are either sold to the store by an individual or given to the store by an individual for the store to sale for the individual. The store re-sells them at a price that they set. These accessories and clothing normally fit current fashion trends.

Thrift
(examples:
Attic Treasures
and Goodwill)
Clothes are donated to the store and then sold to the public. Prices are normally reasonable.

These items come from distant time periods (20-25 years and older), harder to find and can be pricey.

Now that you know the difference between
consignment, thrift and vintage,
what should you do?

Dust your debit card off and shop again

Hey Atlanta, don't let your closet fall victim to the recession. Progress your wardrobe with some of the hottest clothing and accessories by shopping at affordable resale stores by using our STORE DIRECTORY.
